The Gannon women's basketball team will try to win its first-ever Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship Saturday, March 6 when it clashes with rival California (Pa.) in the PSAC title game at the Hammermill Center. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. The Lady Knights are ranked No. 1 in both the
USA Today ESPN Top 25 and NCAA Division II Atlantic regional rankings.
Ticket windows at the Hammermill Center will open at 6 p.m. A very limited number of plush seats and chairbacks will be available when ticket windows open. General admission seats will also be available. Ticket prices are $12 for plush seats/chairbacks, $8 for adult general admission and $3 for student/senior citizen general admission. Students at any of the schools participating in the PSAC Final Four are admitted free of charge by showing a valid school ID at the door.
Head coach
Cleve Wright's squad is the lone undefeated team in NCAA Division II. Gannon has won 32 consecutive games, representing the second-longest streak at any level of the NCAA behind only UConn's 69-game win streak. Gannon (31-0), Division I UConn (30-0), Division I Nebraska (28-0), Division III Amherst (28-0) and Division III Christopher Newport (29-0) are the only undefeated women's teams remaining in the NCAA.
Gannon's 32-game overall win streak is the 10th-longest in NCAA Division II history. The Lady Knights are two wins shy of the NCAA Division II record for consecutive victories in a season.
