The Gannon women's basketball team concludes a two-game homestand Saturday, February 13 against Clarion at the Hammermill Center. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. The contest represents Gannon's third annual Pink Zone event. Admission to the entire doubleheader is free of charge and all fans are encouraged to wear pink to Saturday's doubleheader.
Gannon is shooting to raise $13,000 during this year's event. The team will raise money partially through the sale of pink, tie-dyed T-shirts. The shirts are $13 each and can be purchased in the front lobby of the Hammermill Center during Saturday's games. All proceeds raised from the sales and from the Pink Zone game will benefit the Erie chapter of the American Cancer Society -- Making Strides Against Breast Cancer. The Lady Knights' previous two Pink Zone games have raised a total of $25,000 for the American Cancer Society.
Gannon enters the contest ranked No. 3 in NCAA Division II and No. 1 in the Atlantic region. The Lady Knights have opened the season with 25 consecutive victories and have won 35 straight regular-season games dating back to last season.
