ERIE, Pa. - The Gannon University women's water polo team will face #19 Indiana University at the Carneval Athletic Pavilion Friday, April 3. The match is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
GU is 9-5 this season, having won its last five contests.
Annie Greenhill (Brea, Calif./Brea Olinda) leads the team with 35 goals and 12 assists. The Lady Knights won all four of their matches last weekend, winning by a combined score of 64-24.
IU is 13-14 on the year, having played one of the toughest schedules in the nation. At the Fluid Four last weekend, the host Hoosiers went 1-2, beating Sonoma State and losing to nationally-ranked Michigan and Maryland. They are led by Amy Moore and Lauren Wyckoff, who have each scored 31 goals this season.
Both teams come into the match with 4-1 records in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA). The Hoosiers are ranked third in the CWPA Top 10 poll. GU is ninth in the same rankings. Gannon and Indiana are tied with Mercyhurst for second place in the CWPA Western Division. Michigan leads with a 7-0 record.
