PASADENA, Calif.-The Gannon women's water polo team beat Cal Tech 14-0 Thursday night. The Lady Knights featured a balanced scoring attack, as nine players scored at least one goal to help Gannon pick up their first win. 

GU (1-1) put together a 10-0 first quarter to take control early and then the Knights scored a single goal in the middle two periods. They added two more insurance scores in the fourth. 

Katelyn Hansen (Erie, Pa./McDowell) recorded a hat trick. Molly Andrews (Tustin, Calif./Tustin), Liz Clary (Canton, Ohio/Glen Oak), and Laurel Martinez (Pittsburgh, Pa./Keystone Oaks) each scored two goals. Mallery Casale (Erie, Pa./Villa Maria Academy), Ashley McLellan (Erie, Pa./McDowell), Lauren Myrick (Erie, Pa./McDowell), Kendra Plackemeier (Bonsif, Calif./Fallbrook), and Annie Greenhill (Brea, Calif./Brea Olinda) each scored one goal for the Knights. 

Libbie Guina (Friendswood, Texas/Clear Brook) and Emily Ruck (Salem, Ore./South Salem) each made one save in net. 

Gannon is ranked 10th in the Collegiate Water Polo Association (CWPA) Top 10 this week. The Knights next play in the California Lutheran Spring Tournament in Thousand Oaks, facing UC-Santa Cruz Saturday, March 7, at 1:30 p.m. and then Cal Tech at 5:15 p.m. Both times are Eastern.
