PAINESVILLE, Ohio - The Gannon men's basketball team secured its second consecutive 20-win season with a 76-41 victory Monday night at Lake Erie in the squad's final non-conference game of the season. It marks the 24th 20-win season in the program's 65-year history.
Gannon wasted little time putting Monday's contest in the bag. Following a Lake Erie three-pointer to open the game, the Golden Knights rattled off 19 consecutive points to assume a 19-3 lead. Six different players scored during the run.
Pierre Howard (Chicago, Ill./Bloom) tallied six of those points while
Alfonso Scandrett's (Greensboro, N.C./Northwest Guilford) jumper with 10:23 remaining in the first half capped the blitz. In all, Gannon held Lake Erie without a point for nine minutes and 31 seconds until Rick Leasure's three-pointer briefly stopped the momentum.

John T. Reilly's club grabbed its largest lead of the first half at 38-14 on Joe Lindsay's (Spring Valley, N.Y./Spring Valley) triple with 1:56 remaining until halftime. Leasure's jumper 22 seconds later sent the homestanding Storm to the intermission with a 38-16 deficit.
Lake Erie never got closer than 18 points in the second half.
Corey Dotchin's (Cranberry Township, Pa./Vincentian Academy) steal and lay-up with four seconds left provided Gannon with its biggest lead of the evening and the final score of 76-41.
Howard led all scorers with 17 points, seven rebounds, four assists, and two steals. The senior guard has reached double digits in scoring during nine consecutive games.
Kyle Goldcamp (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) recorded his 12th double-double at Gannon with 15 points and 11 rebounds in 19 minutes. He has reached double digits in scoring during the last 17 games he has played in dating back to last season. Lindsey chipped in 14 points.
Gannon shot 44.9 percent (31-69) from the field, 38.1 percent (8-21) from three-point range, and 85.7 percent (6-7) from the free throw line,
Ethan Bradshaw was the only Lake Erie player to reach double digits with 10 points. The Storm shot 26.1 percent (12-46) from the floor, 20 percent (4-20) from behind the arc, and 68.4 percent (13-19) from the charity stripe.
Gannon, ranked No. 4 in NCAA Division II and No. 1 in the Atlantic regional rankings, improved to 20-3 with its second consecutive victory and third win of the season against Lake Erie. The Storm dropped to 6-18. The Golden Knights return to action Wednesday, February 18 against local rival Edinboro. Game time at the Hammermill Center is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
