One member of the Gannon University men's basketball program has been named to the 2025–26 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District® Team, recognizing his excellence both academically and on the court.
The CSC Academic All-District® Men's Basketball Team honors the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes men's basketball honorees across four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III, and NAIA.
To be eligible for Academic All-District® honors, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher, and either compete in 90 percent of their team's games or start in at least 66 percent of contests.
Academic All-District® qualifiers advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot, with honorees announced on April 15, 2026.
Gannon's selection played a key role in a 32-3 overall season, as the Golden Knights tied a program record for wins and advanced to the NCAA Championship Final for the first time since 1987.
Victor Desmond (Onalaska, Wisc./Onalaska), a senior from Onalaska, Wis., has maintained an impressive 3.59 cumulative GPA through 128 credits while pursuing a degree in business administration.
Desmond also earned PSAC Champion Scholar honors for men's basketball. The PSAC Champion Scholar Awards are modeled after the NCAA's Elite Scholar-Athlete Award and recognize the student-athlete with the highest grade point average competing at each PSAC championship site.
