Breanne Radin scored in the 84th minute to help Gannon beat Edinboro 2-1 Wednesday night.
ERIE, Pa. - Breanne Radin's (Lockwood, N.Y./Spencer-Van Etten) goal in the 84th minute was the difference as the Lady Knight soccer team defeated Edinboro 2-1 at Gannon University Field Wednesday night.

Radin, one of four seniors playing the final home matches of their GU careers, took a short pass from Kara Prokopchak (Erie, Pa./Harbor Creek) and beat Scot goalkeeper Kate Stukbauer from point-blank range at the 83:29 mark.

Edinboro made a frantic final push, but the Knights held on, capped by a sparkling Sabrina Chirco (Brampton, Ontario/St. Thomas Aquinas) save on a Rachel Dahlstrand shot in the final 30 seconds of play.

After a scoreless first half, Amanda Sharbaugh (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) opened the scoring in the 49th minute with a blast from 30 yards out to beat Stukbauer. The Scots responded with a tying goal at the 63:21 mark by Amber McLaughlin.

Edinboro outshot GU 18-12 and put eight shots on goal to just six for the Knights. Chirco made seven saves in the victory.

Gannon secured a spot in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Tournament with the win. The Knights close out the regular season schedule at Slippery Rock Saturday, October 31, at 2:30 p.m. GU has now qualified for two consecutive conference tournaments. Seeding will be determined following the end of the regular season Saturday.
