ERIE, Pa. - The Lady Knight soccer team hosts Edinboro at Gannon University Field Wednesday, October 28. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division contest is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff. Five GU seniors will be honored before playing their final regular season home match.
Live stats for the match will be available at

With a win, the Knights can clinch a spot in the PSAC Tournament and win 10 matches for the second straight campaign. GU (9-5-1, 7-4-1 PSAC) needs a win in either of its last two contests to secure a spot in the PSAC postseason. Also, the program hasn't had consecutive 10-win seasons since 1999, when Gannon capped a four-year run of double-digit win campaigns.
The women have won three straight matches this season, including a 2-0 win at Clarion Saturday, October 24.
Tenyka Francique (Brampton, Ontario/International) scored both goals in the victory, giving her 12 goals in 2009.
Gannon is fifth in the NCAA Division II Atlantic regional rankings as of October 21. The NCAA regional rankings determine the NCAA Tournament participants at the end of the season. The PSAC and West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) champions receive automatic bids. The next four teams in the final regional rankings will receive at-large bids.
Edinboro is 6-6-5 overall and 4-5-3 in the league. The Fighting Scots are led by forward Rachel Dahlstrand, who has scored 10 goals and assisted on four others. The teams played to a scoreless tie when they played at Edinboro September 22.
