Lady Knight Soccer, #20 California (Pa.) Square Off in Pivotal PSAC Match Tuesday Afternoon

Sabrina Chirco recorded her third shutout of the season in Saturday's 5-0 win over Lock Haven.
ERIE, Pa. - The Lady Knight soccer team hosts #20 California (Pa.) at Gannon University Field Tuesday, October 20. The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division match is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start.

GU (7-5-1, 5-4-1) currently sits in fourth place in the PSAC West, one point ahead of Slippery Rock. The top four teams from each division qualify for the PSAC Tournament at the end of the season. The Knights are ranked eighth in the NCAA Division II Atlantic region rankings as of October 14. The rankings do not include Gannon's 5-0 win over Lock Haven October 17. Amanda Sharbaugh (Sarver, Pa./Knoch) scored two goals and assisted on another in the victory. 

California (Pa.) is tied for first in the division with Indiana (Pa.). The Vulcans are fourth in the Atlantic region. They defeated Mercyhurst 3-2 in overtime October 17, extending their unbeaten streak to six matches. 

The teams feature several of the top scorers in the conference this year. Cal (12-3-1, 7-2-1) forward Amanda Heister leads the PSAC with 12 goals, while Tenkya Francique (Brampton, Ontario/International) is tied for second-most with 10 and Sharbaugh has scored nine times.
