Martinez led the Gannon softball team to a 5-1 record in three doubleheaders last week. The senior outfielder hit .588 (10-17) with a .765 slugging percentage and .667 on-base percentage. She recorded five RBIs, four runs, three doubles and four walks. Martinez hit .636 (7-11) with runners on base, .571 (4-7) with runners in scoring position and .750 (3-4) with two outs. She reached base four times in six at-bats as a lead-off hitter. Martinez produced a hit during all five games she played in, extending her current hit streak to nine games. She began the week by going 3-for-4 during a 13-1 victory at Notre Dame (Ohio). Martinez went 4-for-6 with three walks, three runs and four RBIs during a sweep at rival Edinboro. She then generated three hits during a twinbill at Mercyhurst. Martinez raised her average 59 points last week to her current .341 status.
