Turek qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships for the second consecutive year with a second-place finish at the NCAA Division II Super Regional One last weekend. The redshirt junior won two of three matches as the top seed at 125 pounds. Ranked fifth in NCAA Division II, he needed only one victory to reach Sunday's semifinals. After a first-round bye, Turek produced an easy 22-6 victory against eighth seed Dante Steffenino of Shippensburg, ending the match at 6:17 with a technical fall. He posted a 7-4 decision against Mercyhurst's Ryan Bohince during Sunday's opening match in the championship semifinals. It represented his second win of the season against Bohince. In the process, he clinched his second consecutive NCAA Division II National Championship appearance. Turek earned all-america status last season with an eighth-place national finish. The Madison, Ohio, native concluded the weekend with a 23-6 overall record.
