Biography

Ranta is expected to compete for playing time as an infielder or pitcher during his first season at Gannon in 2014 … transferred from Genesee (N.Y.) Community College prior to the 2013-14 campaign … will have two years of eligibility remaining.

At Genesee Community College: Played for head coach Skip Sherman … named team MVP … helped Genesee win back-to-back conference championships, going 14-0 in conference play in 2012.

High School: Played for head coach Mark Harris at Orchard Park Secondary School in Stoney Creek, Ontario … was a three-time varsity team MVP … served as a team captain for two seasons.

Personal: Interdisciplinary Studies major … has one brother … is the son of Patti.
