Spaeder will compete for time in Gannon’s starting rotation.

2012: Recorded 12 appearances on the mound, including seven starts … named a PSAC Scholar-Athlete ... received the Division II Athletics Directors Association (DII ADA) Academic Achievement Award … led the team with a 2.54 earned run average that ranked fourth among all PSAC pitchers … finished second on the team in appearances, second in starts, second in saves (1), third in innings pitched (49.2) and third in strikeouts (29) … limited opposing hitters to a .242 average (15-62) with two outs and a .246 average (28-114) with runners on base … began the season with 5 2/3 innings during a 5-1 victory against Bethel (Ind.), striking out six while allowing only one run on three hits … picked up his second victory after allowing only two earned runs in six innings during a win at Clarion … surrendered two runs or less during his first nine appearances, generating a 1.95 ERA through 32 1/3 innings … didn’t allow an earned run through nine innings against nationally-ranked Seton Hill.

2011: Made two appearances, starting both times … was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete … received the Division II Athletics Directors Association Academic Achievement Award … limited opposing hitters to a .167 average (4-24) with the bases empty … made his first career start against Grand Valley State at the Russ-Matt Invitational, throwing a complete game … recorded another complete game during his other start, allowing two earned runs during a 5-4 loss at Alderson-Broaddus.

2010: Redshirted … was a PSAC Scholar-Athlete.

High School: Played for head coach Dave Hess at Cathedral Prep (Pa.) High School … named to the all-region first team as a senior … played in the City-County All-Star Game … was a four-year member of the Dean’s List.

Personal: Sport & Exercise Science/Pre-Physical Therapy major ... has two sisters … is the son of Barb and Dave.
