Turner will compete for a starting position in the infield … transferred from Niagara County (N.Y.) Community College in prior to the 2010-11 academic year.

2011: Played in 23 games during his first season at Gannon, starting 21 … started 14 games at first base and seven as a designated hitter … produced a .304 slugging percentage and .315 on-base percentage … hit .302 (13-43) against right-handers … reached base 36 percent (9-25) of the time when leading off an inning … drove home a run three times during five at-bats with a runner on third base and less than two outs … recorded five multiple-hit games … produced his first hits in a Gannon uniform with a 3-for-5 day and two RBIs during a 7-3 victory against Lewis (Ill.) at the Russ-Matt Invitational … went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI three games later during a 9-2 win at Alderson-Broaddus … had a four-game hitting streak March 29-April 3, hitting .538 (7-13) with six runs and two RBIs during the stretch … was perfect in two at-bats during a 6-3 victory against Lock Haven, scoring once and plating a run … added multiple-hit games during a 4-3 victory against Slippery Rock (2-for-2) and against California (Pa.) (3-for-3) … had five hits during the season-ending four-game series against Cal.

At Niagara County Community College: Played for head coach Matt Clingersmith … served as a co-captain … graduated with honors … helped Niagara County advance to the Junior College World Series as a freshman … led the team to a 68-19 record during his two seasons … hit over .350 both seasons … graduated with a 3.46 grade-point average.

High School: Played for head coach Brad Reeson at Dunbarton High School in Pickering, Ontario … was a two-time LOSSA All-Star Game selection … helped Dunbarton win the LOSSA gold and advance to the OFFSA Final Four as a sophomore … graduated with honors.

Personal: Accounting major … has one brother … son of Karen and John … is a member of the Gannon Dean’s List.
