2022: Started all 11 games at left guard and was named a first team All-PSAC West performer … helped the Golden Knights rank sixth in the PSAC in rushing at 145.5 ypg. while paving the way for two of the top eight rushers in the conference … Gannon ranked second in the PSAC in scoring offense (31.6 ppg.) … in addition the Golden Knights were ninth in the PSAC in sacks allowed.
2021: Made the move from the defensive line to offense and started all 11 games at left guard …
part of an offensive line that emerged as one of the best in the PSAC, ranking third in the PSAC and 22nd in Division II in sacks allowed (1.09 per game and 12 total) and fifth in the conference in rushing offense (160.5 ypg.) … paved the way for Melvin Blanks to enjoy one of the best seasons ever by a Gannon ballcarrier, finishing second in the PSAC in rushing with 1,187 yards.
2020: Appeared in all four games, making three starts on the defensive line … recorded two tackles on the season, both coming against Davenport in the season opener.
2019: Appeared in all 11 games, making two starts on the defensive line … recorded 22 tackles, including 10 solo … had 5.5 tackles for loss and finished second on the team with 2.5 sacks, adding a blocked kick and a pass defended … had a career day against California (Pa.), making 5 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and a sack … a PSAC Scholar-Athlete.
High School: Played for coach Tim Tyrell at Archbishop Hoban High School in Akron, Ohio … three-year letterman in football, helping the team to four consecutive Ohio state championships … also was a four-year letterman in wrestling, where he was a four-time district qualifier … Honor Roll.
Personal: Biology major … son of Jennifer and Joe Petit … has two brothers – Luke, a member of the football team at Furman University, and Jackson.
