High School: Wrestled for head coach Shane McChesney at McDowell (Pa.) High School … was a three-time District 10 champion … captured the regional championship as a senior, qualifying for the state championships … was a four-year varsity starter … received the Most Outstanding Freshman Award … topped  the 100-victory plateau, compiling a 113-45 career record … helped McDowell win three consecutive District 10 championships, including a run of two straight seasons without a home loss … was part of a McDowell team that finished second at the state championships as a junior … named to the honor roll all four years.
