Keoke Toomer (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) provided a record-setting defensive touchdown and Donell Mason hauled in a pair of touchdown passes as Gannon fell 45-28 to PSAC East opponent Shepherd in a PSAC crossover matchup on Saturday afternoon at Ram Stadium.
The Golden Knights scored twice in the opening eight minutes and held leads of 7-0 and 14-7 before Shepherd responded.
Gannon entered halftime trailing 31-21 before Toomer's historic 100-yard fumble return for a touchdown pulled the Golden Knights within three, 31-28, early in the fourth quarter.
Shepherd answered with the final 14 points to secure the victory.
