ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon football team battled Bloomsburg into overtime on Senior Day before the Huskies escaped McConnell Family Stadium with a 33-27 victory on Saturday afternoon.
Gannon (0-3) held leads of 13-3 and 20-10 in the first half before Bloomsburg battled back to even the score at halftime. The Golden Knights later erased a seven-point fourth-quarter deficit when
Ty Hurst (Tallmadge, Ohio/Tallmadge) connected with
Donell Mason (Indianapolis, Ind./Ben Davis) for a nine-yard touchdown to tie the game at 27-27 with 12:48 remaining.
Neither team scored again in regulation, sending Gannon to overtime for the first time since the 2022 season.
After the Golden Knights were stopped on their opening possession of overtime, Bloomsburg's Declan Clancy scored on a three-yard run to end the thriller.
