Atlanta, Ga.  – The Gannon women's basketball team has been recognized for its success in the classroom, earning a place on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) 2025-26 Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll.

"The WBCA is pleased to recognize those women's basketball programs that have committed themselves to excellence on the court and in the classroom," said WBCA Executive Director Danielle Donehew. "The 119 ranked teams we honor this year across all five collegiate membership divisions strive to achieve all-around success and we commend their efforts. Congratulations!"

The Golden Knights finished 16th among all NCAA Division II programs with a team grade-point average of 3.755, placing them among the nation's top academic women's basketball teams.

"I am proud of our team's efforts in the classroom," said Gannon head coach Cleve Wright. "Our players take their education seriously, and it is good to see them recognized at the national level. I am thankful for the WBCA valuing academics and creating a platform where teams can be recognized for their performance in the classroom."

Gannon joined East Stroudsburg as the only PSAC programs to earn a place on the 2025-26 WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll.

Teams must post a combined GPA of at least 3.0 and be nominated by a WBCA-member head coach to earn recognition. The 2025-26 season marks the 31st year the WBCA has compiled the Academic Top 25 Team Honor Rolls.
