LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference today announced the 2025 PSAC Women's Basketball All-Conference Teams. The Gannon women's basketball team had three players recognized, with
Bri Claxon (South Webster, Ohio/South Webster) and
Kate Ratliff (Canal Winchester, Ohio/Canal Winchester) repeating on the All-PSAC West squads and
Mia Slater (Canberra, Australia/Canberra Grammar School) selected for the first time.
Claxon is now a three-time All-PSAC West honoree after earning first team accolades for the third time. Ratliff repeated as a member of the second team and she was joined on the unit by Slater.
The PSAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Year went to Nyshae' Weaver of Indiana (Pa.) while Seton Hill's Mia Kalich repeated as the Defensive Athlete of the Year. Slippery Rock's Iyanna Wade was selected the PSAC West Freshman of the Year. Finally, IUP's Craig Carey was named the PSAC West Coach of the Year.
The trio has led Gannon to a 27-3 record following Wednesday's 66-56 win over Bloomsburg in the PSAC Quarterfinals. The Golden Knights play Seton Hill on Saturday, March 7 in the PSAC Semifinals.
After earning PSAC West Freshman of the Year honors in 2023 Claxon has been named to the All-PSAC West first team the last three years. The 5-foot-7 senior is leading Gannon in scoring for the second straight year, currently averaging 16.1 ppg. That is good for fifth in the PSAC.
Claxon has emerged as Gannon's top 3-pint threat with 51 in 150 attempts while shooting 83.3 percent from the line (50-of-60). In addition, she has 46 assists and 44 steals, the latter tied for second on the team.
She went over 1,000 career points last year and has now climbed into fifth place in career scoring with 1,776 points. She also ranks sixth in career 3-pointers made (187).
Claxon is one of only four Gannon players to earn All-PSAC honors three-or-more times and one of three three-time first team picks. Sam Pirosko was a four-time first team selection and Jen Papich earned first team accolades three times. Nettie Blake was named to the first team twice and the second team once.
Ratliff is a versatile do-everything performer. The 6-foot-0 junior guard recently scored her 1,000th career point with her total now standing at 1,038 plus. She ranks second on the team In scoring at 11.4 ppg. and is also tied for second in rebounding at 5.2 rpg. In addition, she leads the team in assists (90), steals (59), and blocked shots (39). She ranks among the PSAC leaders in all three categories.
Ratliff is also a frequent visitor to the charity stripe, making 99-of-115 (86.1 percent). That is good for eighth in the PSAC.
Slater earned All-PSAC West honors for the first time. One part of a two-way time share in the pivot, the 6-foot-2 junior from Canberra, Australia has played in all 30 games with nine starts. She averages 8.8 ppg. and 5.2 rpg. despite playing just under 18 minutes per contest.
Slater is shooting a team-high 54.8 percent from the floor (108-of-197) and stands second on the team in blocked shots with 21.
