Mia Slater (Canberra, Australia/Canberra Grammar School) was named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week after helping Gannon lock up the No. 1 seed in the PSAC West with strong defensive performances against Clarion and No. 5 IUP.
The No. 6 Golden Knights closed the regular season with a 26–3 overall record and an 18–2 mark in PSAC play.
Slater anchored Gannon's defense by averaging 7.5 rebounds per game, totaling 15 boards across the two contests. She pulled down 11 defensive rebounds, added four offensive rebounds, and recorded three blocked shots, controlling the paint and limiting second-chance opportunities.
The honor marked the fifth PSAC weekly award overall for the Golden Knights this season and the second Defensive Athlete of the Week recognition for Slater.
The Golden Knights will begin postseason play on Wednesday, March 4, at 5:30 p.m. inside the Highmark Events Center, facing the winner of Bloomsburg and Shepherd.
