PAWLEY'S ISLAND, SC– The Gannon men's golf team finished second at the Pawley's Island Beach Bash in their first tournament of the spring. Gannon finished with the best team score on the second day at two-over par, beating out third place Winston-Salem State by nine strokes. 

Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy/International School of Modena) had an incredible second day, shooting a three-under 69 to finish second overall. Three Gannon golfers finished in the top ten.

Wayne State took the tam title at four-over par.

• That's Amore - All love for Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy/International School of Modena) on day two. The senior carded a three-under 69 to finish second for the tournament and the lone GU golfer under par. It's his fourth top five and fifth top ten finish of the season for the Italian, who went two-under 34 on the final nine holes. 
• Top 10 - Rasmus Seppanen (Bastad, Sweden/Akademi Bastad Gymnasium) and Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) each finished inside the top ten on Tuesday. Parrini shot even par (72), including three birdies on the day, finishing fourth, his second top five of the year. Seppanen was even on teh front nine and just one over coming home to card a 73 and finish tenth at four-over par. 
• Other Results - Playing as one of the individuals, Mario Estevez (Gijón, Spain/Colegio Montedeva de Gijón) delivered an impressive performance, finishing 28th and the fifth best Gannon finisher. His round of 75 was a season best and featured a pair of birdies ... Jacob Wolak (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock Area) scored a 76, finishing in the top 15 (13th) ... Kyle Westfall (Erie, Pa./Northwest Pennsylvania Collegiate Academy (Erie)) lept 22 spots up the leaderboard after soring a 79, finishing in the top 70. 

• Team Success - Gannon finished with the best team score on the second day at two-over par, beating out third place Winston-Salem State by nine strokes. They finished second to Wayne State and have now finished runner-up or better in five of seven tournaments this season.
