Gannon's defensive effort in its PSAC win over California (Pa.) was led by Kate Ratliff (Canal Winchester, Ohio/Canal Winchester), who has been named the PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week, as announced by the PSAC on Monday afternoon.
 

Ratliff recorded a game-high and career-high-tying five steals, along with two blocks and six rebounds, including five defensive boards, while playing 33 minutes.

She added nine points and went a perfect 3-for-3 at the free throw line, along with two assists in the victory.

Her defensive effort helped the No. 5 Golden Knights defeat California (Pa.) 72–51 and improve to 21–2 overall and 13–1 in PSAC play.

Ratliff leads the team with 32 blocks (1.4 per game) and 42 steals (1.8 per game) this season.

The honor marks the fifth PSAC weekly award for the Gannon women's basketball program this season and the second for Ratliff during the 2025–26 campaign.
