Alwa Wennstroem (Öjebyn, Sweden) and men's soccer defender
Jensen Peake (Staffordshire, England/Friary) have been named the Gannon Student-Athletes of the Week following standout performances for the Golden Knights.
Wennstroem continued her unbeaten start in goal as Gannon posted a 2-0 week with shutout victories over Seton Hill and IUP.
The goalkeeper played all 180 minutes and stopped all six shots she faced, helping the Golden Knights defeat Seton Hill, 3-0, before posting a 2-0 victory over IUP. The win over the Crimson Hawks marked Gannon's first victory in the series since 2023.
Since taking over as Gannon's starting goalkeeper, Wennstroem has posted a 6-0-1 record and has yet to allow a goal. The Golden Knights improved to 7-2-2 overall and 7-2-1 in PSAC West play.
Peake recorded one goal and four assists for six points while helping the Gannon men's soccer team post a 1-0-1 record.
The defender helped the Golden Knights roll to a 6-1 victory over California (Pa.) before earning a 2-2 draw against PSAC East foe West Chester. Peake finished the two-match stretch with four shots, including three on goal, while contributing at both ends of the field.
Gannon moved to 7-1-2 overall and remained unbeaten at 3-0 in PSAC West play.
