LOCK HAVEN, Pa. — Gannon men's soccer's
Rafa Hyde (São José dos Campos, Brazil/Objetivo Aquarius) and
Jensen Peake (Staffordshire, England/Friary) swept the PSAC West Athlete of the Week honors on Monday following an unbeaten week for the Golden Knights.
Hyde was named the PSAC West Offensive Athlete of the Week, while Peake earned PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week honors. Both Golden Knights are receiving the honor for the second time this season. Peake earned Defensive Athlete of the Week honors for the second consecutive week, while Hyde also picked up his second weekly honor of the year.
The selections mark the fifth PSAC West weekly honor earned by a Gannon men's soccer player this season.
Hyde scored two goals over Gannon's two matches as the Golden Knights posted a 1-0-1 record. The forward from Brazil started both contests and finished the week with four points on six shots.
He helped Gannon roll to a 6-1 victory over California (Pa.) before finding the back of the net again against PSAC East foe West Chester in a 2-2 draw.
Peake made an impact at both ends of the field, recording one goal and four assists for a team-high six points during the two-match stretch.
The defender helped Gannon remain unbeaten, recording two assists in the 6-1 victory over California (Pa.) before adding two more assists in the 2-2 draw against West Chester.
Peake finished the week with four shots, including three on goal.
The Golden Knights improved to 7-1-2 overall following the unbeaten week and remained unbeaten in PSAC West play.
