JOHNSTOWN, PA– It's the second win of the year! Gannon took home first in the Sunnehanna Collegiate on a challenging day two. Three golfers were in the top 35 of the field, and the Golden Knights weathered an early slow start to take the title by five strokes.

THE KNIGHT CAP

  • It's In The Cards- Giovanni Delorenzi (Reggio Emilia, Italy/International School of Modena) had the best day of all Golden Knights linksters, shooting a one over 71 to end the day at two under par, tying for second. He shot even par on the back nine to secure the finish.
  • Jacob's Strong Tourney - After a career day on Monday, Jacob Wolak (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock Area) finished the tournament tying for 22nd after shooting eight over on Tuesday. A 42 on the front nine was quickly balanced with birdies on 11 and 14 on the back and a 36 coming back towards the clubhouse.
  • Rest of the Top 50 - Rasmus Seppanen (Bastad, Sweden/Akademi Bastad Gymnasium) ended in 35th position at +7, while Dylan Flinchbaugh (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown) and Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) finished the day 44th and 47th, respectively.
  • Tight at the Top - Gannon's lead was trimmed to three at one point during the day, but a five stroke win seemed like a mountain compared to others on the leaderboard. Three teams tied for third, and two more were just two strokes behind in a sixth place tie.

THE NEXT ROUND

Gannon comes home! The Golden Knights will prepare for the annual Howard "Bud" Elwell Invitational on October 12th and 13th at Whispering Woods Golf Club.
