Gannon's Alexandros Kotskar (Voula, Greece/Athinaiki Agogh) has been named the Western Water Polo Association (WWPA) Offensive Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Kotskar was the Golden Knights' top offensive performer at the Bucknell Invite, totaling 13 goals and three assists for 16 points in two games on Sunday. He opened the day with three goals and three assists in a narrow 19–18 setback to nationally ranked No. 13 Air Force, then erupted for 10 goals on 18 shots in the afternoon matchup with WWPA opponent Salem.
His 10-goal outburst came within one of the program's single-game scoring record of 11, a mark he previously tied in 2023. The effort also stands as one of the top single-game performances in Division II this season.
This marks the second time this season a Gannon men's water polo student-athlete has earned WWPA weekly honors, as Victor Volant (Fuveau, France/) was named Offensive Player of the Week on September 10.
