ERIE, PA. - Two freshman are taking home Gannon Student-Athlete of the Week honors for September 15th. Volleyball's Abbey Williams (Chicago, Ill./Mother Mcauley Liberal Arts) and Jack Kenyon (London, United Kingdom/Harris Crystal Palace) of men's soccer are each taking home the honor. This is the second release of the Gannon Student-Athlete of the Week Award and encompasses events through Sunday.

Williams made a statement over the weekend as the volleyball team won two of three games to improve to 5-2. The outside hitter recorded 41 kills, including a season high 17 against Tiffin, over the three game set. She also added six aces, and sprinkled in 37 digs over the two day tournament. 

Meanwhile, Kenyon was the lone individual to find the back of the net in a 1-0 win for men's soccer over ranked Ashland on Friday night. The freshman racked up 59 minutes of playing time and fired his first career goal into the back of the cage in the second half. Kenyon also recorded two total shots in the contest, helping lead GU to their first win of the 2025 season. Gannon is now 1-1-1 after three games.
