Four Golden Knights Named to All-PSAC West Baseball Team

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference released its 2025 PSAC Baseball All-Conference Teams on Tuesday afternoon with Gannon well represented. Four Golden Knights received All-PSAC West accolades, two on the first team and two more on the second. Gannon finished the season last week at 22-25 and 14-14 in the PSAC West.

Alex Bemis (Monroe, Ohio/Monroe) was accorded first team honors at third base while Wes Parker (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) was named as the extra infielder. Connor Smith (Sewickley, Pa./North Allegheny) (outfield) and Jake Boynar (North Ridgeville, Ohio/North Ridgeville) (starting pitcher) earned spots on the second team.

Bemis enjoyed an outstanding sophomore campaign while shifting positions. He played shortstop as a freshman, then began the 2025 season in center field before settling in at third base.

He finished with a .329 batting average with 52 hits in 158 at bats. He led the Golden Knights in runs scored with 44, was tied for the team lead with 41 RBIs, and ranked second in hits with 52. Bemis also led the team in doubles (17), tied for fourth in a season at Gannon. He was also tied for the lead in triples (3) and ranked second in home runs with eight. He was second on the team in stolen bases with 14 in 18 attempts, along with ranking second in total bases (99) and slugging percentage (.627). He had a team-high .435 on-base percentage.

Parker joined the Golden Knights this year after transferring from Toledo. The junior first baseman got a late start to the season after suffering a broken jaw in preseason drills. He returned to play in 39 games, finishing with a .375 batting average, second on the team. He led the Golden Knights with 54 hits in 144 at bats while tying Bemis for the team lead in RBIs with 41.

Parker displayed plenty of power with 10 doubles, three triples and 10 home runs. The 10 homers rank fourth in a season and his team-leading .694 slugging percentage is also fourth in a season.

Smith began the year as a relief pitcher and reserve outfielder. The redshirt sophomore ended the year as the team's leading hitter with a .378 batting average after taking over in left field. In 39 games, with 33 starts, he had 45 hits in 119 at bats with nine doubles, five home runs and 29 RBIs. Smith added nine stolen bases. He also appeared in five out of the bullpen with a 0-2 record and two saves with a 1.35 ERA.

Boynar emerged as Gannon's top starter. The sophomore right hander led the Golden Knights with a 5-2 record and 3.83 ERA. He also led the team in games start (11), innings pitched (51.2) and strikeouts (58). He allowed 42 hits and 25 walks, holding opponents to a .227 batting average.
