Gannon seniors Abbey Girman (softball) & Cole Casilio (men's wrestling) have both been selected as recipients of the Bud Elwell Scholarship.

This award is given out each year to two student-athletes who exemplify exceptional leadership on and off the field of competition. Recipients also meet high academic standards and are consistently present in community service. 

Girman will graduate this year with a Health Science/PT degree. She has been on the Dean's List in every semester on campus, and carries a 3.86 term GPA.
Girman has been a consistent starter and an impact player on the field, while also shining off the field. She was voted by her teammates to be the junior class rep this past season, and presents herself as a leader during summer camps & volunteer activities in the community. Her other career accolades include:

• PSAC West Athlete of the Week (4/29/24)
• NFCA All-Atlantic Region Second Team (2023)
• All-PSAC West First Team (2023)
• PSAC Scholar-Athlete (2022, 2023, 2024)
• D2ADA Academic Achievement Award Winner (2022-23)

Casilio will graduate this year with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. A student-athlete with a 3.797 GPA, he posted a 23-11 record last season and earned a second place finish in Super Regional 1, qualifying for the NCAA Championships. He was also named a NWCA Scholar All-American and a PSAC Scholar-Athlete. 
Off the field of competition, Casilio has excelled both as a leader and mentor for Gannon Athletics. A team captain, he actively participates in GIVE Day, volunteers in several community service projects, and helps to lead the Mentor/Mentee program through the program. His other career accolades include:
