ERIE, PA - The Gannon University Athletic Department is fifth in the PSAC's Dixon Trophy all-sports standings through the fall seasons of the 2025-26 competition.
Gannon has won the Dixon Trophy in three of the last four academic years.
The Dixon Trophy standings award athletic programs points based on their teams' finishes in the PSAC championships. Champions are awarded 17 points for first place, 16 for second … and so on. However, if a sport has fewer than 17 teams, the points are prorated based on the number of teams.
Gannon had an average of 10.93 points per sport in the fall. Kutztown leads the PSAC standings with 13.92 average points, while East Stroudsburg is second with 12.50.
Gannon had an outstanding fall season highlighted by the men's soccer team winning its first ever PSAC Championship, in a 2-1 victory over Millersville. The Golden Knights remain in the NCAA tournament and will compete in the Elite 8 this weekend. Elsewhere, volleyball secured a spot in the PSAC championship game after two convincing wins in the opening rounds, while women's soccer secured the second seed in the PSAC tournament and advanced to the NCAA field. Men's golf recorded another strong showing at the PSAC championships, claiming third in a field of nine teams. Both Cross Country teams had strong and successful seasons, including at the conference championships race, in which Emily Bowers claimed first place individually on the women's side.
Dixon Trophy standings will be released after the winter seasons before the final standings are announced in May.
Gannon won its first Dixon Trophy title in 2021-22 and then repeated in 2022-23. The Golden Knights finished a close second to Slippery Rock in 2023-24 before winning the title again this past year in 2024-25.
