The Gannon University women's swimming team is set to compete at the 2025 PSAC Swimming Championships, scheduled to take place from Monday, February 17 to Thursday, February 20 at the Graham Aquatics Center in York, Pennsylvania. Preliminaries will be held daily at 10:00 a.m., followed by the finals at 6:00 p.m.
Last year the Golden Knights finished fifth out of twelve teams and garnered several awards, along with setting a new school record. The 800-yard freestyle relay team, comprised of
Madalyn Myers (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional),
Irati Arzalluz (Lasarte-Oria, Spain/Santo Tomas Lizeoa),
Chenay Date Line (Johannesburg, South Africa/Crawford College Sandton), and
Isabella Dietz (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny), earned All-PSAC honors by finishing in third place. Additionally,
Hannah Jacobs (Johannesburg, South Africa/) secured a third-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly event, while
Emily Hedges (Peachtree Corners, Ga./St Pius X Catholic) received All-PSAC recognition and set a new school record in the 200-yard butterfly, contributing significantly to Gannon's overall success.
"We are looking forward to competing at the conference championship," noted first-year head coach
Milan Medo. Under his leadership, the women's team recorded a 4-4 dual meet record and achieved a first-place finish at the Malone Invitational, scoring a total of 1,640 points among a 16-team field.
Medo earned his first victory as the head coach of the Golden Knights women's swimming team on October 25 against RIT by a score of 156-138.
"Everyone has put in a lot of time and effort this season, and we expect great results from our competing athletes next week," Medo added.
