Women's Swimming Falls To Ithaca In Regular Season Finale

Golden Knights To Prepare For PSAC Meet

In their final meet of the regular season, the Golden Knights dropped a 205.5-93.5 decision to Ithaca.

Roaa Farag (Heliopolis, Egypt/Nermin Ismail) started off GU's top podium finishes in the 200 freestyle. Her 1:55.06 was more than a second better than the rest of the field.

Emily Hedges (Peachtree Corners, Ga./St Pius X Catholic) followed with a win in the 200 butterfly in a race that could not have been closer. Her 2:08.57 was good for the win by one one-hundreth of a second.

In the 50 freestyle, Alex Pannemann (Clinton Twp., Mich./Chippewa Valley) shared gold (24.53). This was just seven hundreths of a second off her seed time. Pannemann earned another first place finish in the 100 freestyle later in the meet (53.39).

Moving to the 200 backstroke, Juliana Romero (Bogotá, Columbia/Colegio pureza de Maria) Castro was dominant in an eight swimmer field, winning the event with a 2:04.83. GU finished the meet with a second place finish in the 200 freestyle relay.

The Golden Knights now prepare for the PSAC Championship meet, held Feb. 17-20 in York, PA
