ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon men's wrestling team returns to the Highmark Events Center for the first time since February 5, 2023 with a busy day of wrestling. The Golden Knights will host the Gannon Quad on Saturday, January 18. Fairmont State, Grand Valley State and Millersville will take to the two mats at 12 noon.
 
Gannon opens the day with a PSAC dual against Millersville. Both teams come in with 4-3 records, with the Golden Knights 2-0 in the conference while the Marauders are 1-0. While they wrestle on one mat Fairmont State and Grand Valley State will do battle on the other. Gannon is ranked 14th in the  
 
At approximately 1:30 p.m. the Golden Knights square off against Fairmont State and Grand Valley State and Millersville wrestle. The day wraps up with Gannon wrestling Grand Valley State in a rematch of their dual two weeks ago at the Glenville State Duals. The Golden Knights won that match by a comfortable 38-8 margin. But the Lakers defeated top-ten teams Glenville State and Lander that day while Gannon was edged by both of them.
 
Gannon wrestled Fairmont State a year ago and came away with a 43-3 victory, along with defeating Millersville 39-6 in last year's PSAC dual. In PSAC action this year Gannon has defeated Shippensburg (42-5) and Seton Hill (37-3).
 
Boyd fields a lineup that has five nationally-ranked wrestlers, led by Dorian Crosby (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) who is ranked fifth at heavyweight by The Open Mat and eighth by the NWCA. A grad transfer and two-time Div. I national qualifier at Bucknell, Crosby has an 18-3 record.
 
Kenny Kiser (Meadville, Pa./Saegertown), a former Army transfer, took over as the starter at 149 lbs. recently and has already jumped into the top ten in both polls. He is ranked fifth by The Open Mat and 10th in the NWCA poll. He has an 8-2 record.
 
Patrick Jackson (Harpers Ferry, WV/Spring Mills High) (13-4), a redshirt freshman who transferred from Lock Haven, is ranked seventh by the NWCA and 10th by The Open Mat at 174 lbs. Fellow Lock Haven transfer Logan Sallot (Erie, PA/McDowell High School) is No. 12 in The Open Mat rankings at 125 lbs. He comes in at 14-3.
 
Jerry Echevarria (Long Beach, N.Y./Long Beach) is ranked tenth at 133 lbs. by The Open Mat and 11th by the NWCA. The redshirt junior earned All-American honors a year ago thanks to a fifth-place finish at 133 lbs.
 
On Sunday, January 19 Gannon will send a contingent of wrestlers to the Purple Raider Open hosted by Mount Union.
