ERIE, Pa. – Four Gannon baseball players have been honored as members of the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team®.
Sophomore outfielders
Reece Colvin (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep),
Brendan Koroly (Mars, Pa./Pittsburgh Central Catholic), and
Carson Wible (Franklin, Pa./Franklin), and redshirt junior pitcher
Kieran Versaw-Barnes (Elkins Park, Pa./Cheltenham) have been selected for the honor.
The CSC Academic All-District Team® recognizes top student-athletes for their combined performances on the playing field and in the classroom. Student-athletes must have a 3.50 GPA or better to qualify for the honor, and if in a master's program, they must have a 3.50 GPA as an undergraduate and graduate student.
Colvin has a 3.626 grade-point average as a finance major. The center fielder started 42 games and ranked third on the team with 37 hits and 23 runs scored. He hit .270 with one home run, 22 RBIs, and a .346 on-base percentage.
Koroly owns a 3.640 GPA as a finance major. He appeared in 37 games and made 32 starts while hitting .286 with 22 runs scored and 10 RBIs.
Wible has 3.688 GPA as a business administration major. He started 33 games and hit .296 with three homers and 22 RBIs. He also had a .386 on-base percentage and .426 slugging percentage.
Versaw-Barnes owns a 3.713 GPA as an applied exercise science major. He led Gannon with 36 strikeouts in 33.1 innings pitched while also recording a 4.32 earned-run average.
