"We are incredibly appreciative of the opportunity to host the NCAA men's golf regional tournament and once again showcase our City of Erie and home course, Whispering Woods," said Gannon Director of Athletics Lisa Goddard McGuirk. "In partnership with the Erie Sports Commission and Whispering Woods owner Rich Rocky, our Gannon Athletic staff and coaches will ensure a first-class experience for all student-athletes, coaches, and NCAA representatives participating in this postseason event."

"We are very excited to host the Men's Regional next year at Whispering Woods," said Rich Rocky, Whispering Woods Golf Club owner. "This  tournament will showcase the high skill level in division two, and we look forward to hosting."

"We are very much looking forward to partnering with Gannon on another prestigious NCAA D-II event," said Mark Jeanneret, executive director of the Erie Sports Commission. "Our good friends in the athletic department do an exceptional job running events at the highest level, and it will be exciting to host a tournament that will allow participants to experience Whispering Woods, one of the top courses in the area."

The 2025 Atlantic/East Regional will feature a field of 108 golfers, including 20 five-player teams – 10 from the Atlantic Region and 10 from the East Region – and four individuals from teams that do not qualify for the regional. There will be a practice round on Wednesday, May 7, before the tournament opens on Thursday, May 8.

"This is an awesome opportunity for our student-athletes," said Gannon Director of Golf Scott Stano. "Hosting the NCAA regional is an incredible honor and privilege for our program and university. The city of Erie loves tournament golf, and now they will have a new opportunity to come out and watch highly talented golfers.

"Teams and individuals will move on from Regionals in Erie to the National Championship, and that's really cool to think about."

The Gannon men's golf team recently won the 2024 Atlantic/East Regional as the Golden Knights secured one of five spots from the regional in the NCAA Championships. West Liberty hosted this year's Atlantic/East Regional at Oglebay Golf Resort in Wheeling, W.Va. Gannon then closed the 2024 season last week at the NCAA Championships in Winter Garden, Fla.
