Wareham Named PSAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference today announced the selection of Gannon's Michael Wareham (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) as the PSAC Men's Golf Athlete of the Week.

Wareham led Gannon to a first-place showing out of seven teams in the Bill Blazer Memorial Tournament hosted by Ohio Dominican. Gannon held a 10-stroke lead after the first day and ended up winning by nine strokes over Malone.

A junior from Murrsyville, Pa., Wareham placed second with rounds of 73 and 70 for a one-under par total of 143. He finished one stroke behind Malone's Gunnar McCollins for first place. His second round featured five birdies as he finished with 35 on the front nine and 35 on the back. The second-place finish is the third time he has finished as the runner-up.

Gannon returns to action on Saturday, April 13 competing in the Mercyhurst Spring Invitational at Lake View Country Club in North East, Pa. The teams will play 36 holes that day.
