Personius Leads Golden Knights vs. Large Field at Live in Lou Cross Country Classic

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Ely Personius (Buffalo, N.Y./Amherst Central) turned in a strong showing to lead the Gannon men's cross country team at the 22nd Annual Live in Lou Cross Country Classic. A total of 48 teams and 389 runners competed in the Silver race at E. P. "Tom" Sawyer State Park. The event was hosted by the Louisville Sports Commission.

Trine dominated the team competition finishing with 97 total points. Wabash was second with 251 points and Mount Vernon Nazarene third at 277. Gannon totaled 598 points.
Joseph Skoog of Bethel (TN) won trhe individual race, covering the 8K course in a time of 24:49.8. Demarco Hernandez of Emmanuel (Ga.) was second at 25:24.5 and Ryan Hoopingarner of Trine was third at 25:30.6.

Personius paced the Golden Knights as the senior crossed the finish line with a time of 26:25.0 to finish as Gannon's top runner for the third time in four races. Caleb Mandel (Harborcreek, Pa./Harbor Creek) returned after missing some time with an injury and the two-time All-PSAC performer came in 60th at 27:07.7.

Luke Malena (Medina, Ohio/Cloverleaf) was also in the top half of the field, coming in 112th at 27:45.1.
