ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon women's lacrosse team will debut at home on Wednesday, March 15 after playing its first four contests on the road. The Golden Knights will host Indiana (Pa.) (1-3) in the first PSAC West contest of the season for both squads. The action gets underway at 4:00 p.m. at McConnell Family Stadium.

The Golden Knights dropped to 0-4 in heart-breaking fashion in Buffalo on Sunday, as Daemen scored the game-winning goal on a free-position shot with 2.1 seconds remaining for a 14-13 victory. Gannon had scored twice in the final 1 minute, 8 seconds to forge a 13-13 tie. The tight match was tied on seven occasions.

The good news for head coach Jennifer Pawlowski is the Golden Knights are beginning to come alive offensively. After scoring 19 goals in their first three matches the Golden Knights scored a season-high 13 vs. Daemen.

Macy Hepditch (Waterloo, Ontario/Resurrection Catholic) led the way with five goals and an assist and is tied with McKenna Woodworth (Horseheads, N.Y./Horseheads) for the team scoring lead with seven goals and two assists for nine points. Woodworth contributed three goals and two assists vs. the Wildcats. The junior recently went over 100 points for her career, with her total now sitting at 106 points, including 87 career goals. She was previously named the 2021 PSAC West Freshman of the Year. Caroline Stevens (Syracuse, N.Y./Liverpool) adds four goals and two assists.

Pawlowski has used both Riley Finnegan (Oviedo, Fla./Oviedo) and Haley Manning in goal this year. Finnegan, a freshman, went the whole way against Daemen and finished with nine saves. She has 19 saves and an 18.45 GAA while Manning, a sophomore, has five saves and a 16.02 GAA.

Gannon opened the season playing twice in Florida. The Golden Knights dropped a 19-8 decision at Embry-Riddle on February 28, and on March 3 fell at Florida Tech, 19-7. They played at Roberts Wesleyan on March 8 in a match that was originally scheduled for Feb. 24. The Redhawks claimed an 18-4 win.

IUP has a 1-3 record, opening the year with a 19-1 win over Findlay. Since that time they have dropped three straight matches by a combined five goals. Two of the contests came against PSAC East teams, an 11-10 loss at Bloomsburg and a 13-10 loss at East Stroudsburg in their last contest on Sunday. In between the Crimson Hawks fell to Walsh 7-6. The Crimson Hawks were picked to finish second in the Western Division in the preseason poll.

Sarah Reustle accounts for almost one-third of IUP's goals with 14 along with an assist. The junior is a two-time All-PSAC West honoree, earning first-team accolades last year. Kathryn Burke adds seven goals and five assists, with Jordan Kulp at four goals and a team-high six assists.

Maddy Schramm (17 saves, 8.67 GAA) and Ashley Andrikanich (8 saves, 7.27 GAA) have split time in goal for the Crimson Hawks.

Gannon plays for a second straight time at home on Saturday, March 18 hosting Lock Haven in another PSAC West contest. The action gets under way at 1:00 p.m. at McConnell Family Stadium.
