ERIE, Pa. – What a home opener! The Golden Knights secured an 11-10, overtime victory over D'Youville in their first home game of the season Wednesday at McConnell Family Stadium.

Charlie Hunter (Boston, N.Y./Hamburg) was the star of the show. The senior midfielder scored her 100th career goal midway through the third quarter and notched the game winning goal at the 3:30 mark of OT, her fourth of the afternoon. 

Four different Golden Knights scored in the win. GU was outshot, 36-22, but got great play in net from Allison Lerch (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon), who made 12 saves.

• Charlie's Day - No one had a better day on the field than Charlie Hunter (Boston, N.Y./Hamburg). The senior notched her 100th goal of her career midway through the third quarter to give GU a 9-7 lead. Her 101st goal, however, was most important, serving as the game winner in overtime. Hunter finished with four goals. 
• Mad Hatter - Isabella Veltre (Ontario, N.Y./Wayne Central) continued her hot stretch to start the season, potting three goals and bringing her team leading total to 24 for the season.
• First Quarter Barrage - Gannon dominated the opening 25 minutes, taking a 6-2 lead midway through the second quarter. 
• Battling Back-  After D'Youville tied tied the game at half and then 7-7 in the third, Gannon responded with three straight goals to lead 10-7 early in the fourth. 
• In the Net- Allison Lerch (Coraopolis, Pa./Moon) made some key timely saves late in the fourth and in overtime, making 12 stops throughout the game.
