Women's Golf Team Ranked Fifth in East Region Rankings

ERIE, Pa. – Spikemark has announced it's first edition of the NCAA Division II East Region rankings following the fall seasons. Head coach Scott Stano's Golden Knights are ranked fifth in the initial rankings, their highest ranking ever.

The University of Indianapolis holds down the top spot in the poll, with Findlay ranked second. Grand Valley State holds down the third spot in the poll and Wayne State (Mich.) fourth. Gannon rounds out the top five.

The Golden Knights enjoyed another highly-successful fall campaign. Competing six tournaments in the fall, Gannon finished second in the first two, then turned in a strong showing against a strong field in the William Beall Fall Classic, finishing fifth. In fact, the four teams ahead of Gannon were the four teams currently ahead of them in the regional poll. Gannon ended the year winning the final three tournaments, including its own Michael Corbett Fall Classic.

Gannon will return to action this spring, with the PSAC Championships set for April 26-28. The Golden Knights have won the last four PSAC Championships.
