WASHINGTON, PA– The Gannon women's golf team holds a 14 shot lead entering the final day of competition at the Vulcan Fire Classic in California, PA. The challenging par 72 course saw three Golden Knights in the top ten entering day two and not a single player in the field for any team better than six over par.

• Cloe & Alex Shine on Day One - Cloe Mateo (Sabadell, Spain/Montcau la Mola) and Alexandria LeCureux (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) had stellar performances to start the tournament. Both sit tied for fourth at ten-over par. LeCuruex carded a 40 on the front nine including a birdie on the par five eighth hole. Meanwhile, Mateo birdied the third and the 14th to shoot a 41 on both sides of the course. 
• Not Far Behind- Victoria Colmenares (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/ICL Academy), fresh off a top ten finish a week ago, sits in sixth place with an 11-over 83. Pars on the first four holes going out and first three coming back in were the catalyst to the round. 
• Other Results - Anastasia Lopes (Noverasco di opera (MI), Italy/ISTITUTI DEAMICIS MILANO) and Emily Donahue (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) shot 15 and 16 over, respectively, to each sit in the top 15 after one round of play.

• Team Title - The Golden Knights own a 14 shot lead over second place Glenville State heading into tomorrow's final round.
