ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon women's swimming and diving team logged an impressive 215-70 victory over Penn State Behrend—including first-place finishes in each event—at the team's final dual meet before the upcoming PSAC Championships. Senior Day was also celebrated for the Knights before the meet, honoring eight seniors (six women, two men), and included
Brynn Driscoll (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Bradley),
Amanda Geci (Kersey, Pa./Elk County Catholic),
Leilani Kunf (White Oak, Pa./McKeesport Area),
Brittany Miller (Cleveland, Ohio/Saint Joseph Academy),
Zoe Snyder (Girard, Pa./Girard), and
Silvija Taraska (Wickliffe, Ohio/Lake Catholic).
It was a successful day in the pool for the upperclassmen, as Kunf tallied two victories (the 100 backstroke in 1:02.22 and the 200 backstroke in 2:15.64.) Taraska (first in the 100 breaststroke in 1:06.43) and Driscoll (first in the 200 breaststroke, 2:28.59) also added wins, as did
Brittany Miller (Cleveland, Ohio/Saint Joseph Academy) in the 3-meter diving event (total of 220.70.)
The senior quartet of Geci, Driscoll, Kunf, and Taraska closed the meet out in style with a win in the 200 freestyle relay (1:40.74.)
Redshirt freshman
Irati Arzalluz (Lasarte-Oria, Spain/Santo Tomas Lizeoa) was the only other Knight with a pair of individual victories on the day (the 200 free in 2:00.85 and the 100 butterfly in 1:02.31.) Other swimming event winners included

Claire Rogillio (Austin, Texas/Anderson) in the 200 fly (2:27.58),

Chenay Date Line (Johannesburg, South Africa/Crawford College Sandton) in the 200 IM (2:17.16.)

Kyla Miller (Wilbraham, Mass./Minnechaug Regional) was tops in the 1-meter diving event with a season-best 237.65.
The Golden Knights now begin to prepare for the upcoming PSAC Championships. The four-day event begins on Wednesday, Feb. 16 in York, Pa. at the Graham Aquatic Center.
