ERIE, Pa. — The latest updates to the Gannon athletics calendar see some additions, subtractions and reschedulings for volleyball, men's soccer, men's wrestling, men's water polo, cross country and baseball.
Currently, no spectators are allowed in attendance at sporting events hosted on the Gannon campus due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Access to the facility is limited to participating teams and those workers whose duties are essential to the contest.
For men's water polo, the Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference Championship tournament scheduled for this weekend at Navy will be played at another location to be determined.
Baseball will push back its season opener against Lake Erie, scheduled for this Friday, March 5, to Monday, March 8 at 2 p.m. at McConnell Family Stadium. Also, baseball's trip to St. Thomas Aquinas for a four-game series March 20-21 has been canceled, with the Golden Knights working on a replacement.
Men's wrestling has added a B team competition this Saturday, March 6 at Jamestown CC, facing the Jayhawks and Thiel beginning at 4:30 p.m.
Cross country's home race scheduled for Saturday has been pushed back a week to March 13, still at Pleasant Ridge Park.
Men's soccer's exhibition against Tiffin Tuesday has shifted locations, and will now be played at Tiffin Columbian High School in Tiffin, Ohio. Men's soccer also saw the TBA knocked off its postponed game with Point Park, which will now be played Friday, March 12 at noon at Highmark Stadium in Pittsburgh.
The volleyball matches at home against Salem scheduled for Friday, March 12 have been canceled.
