ERIE, Pa. – Gannon Athletics enters another busy week with competition across men's and women's golf, men's and women's soccer, volleyball and football.
The week begins with both golf programs in action before soccer takes center stage Wednesday. Volleyball opens a two-match road swing Friday, while Saturday features four events, including women's soccer returning home to McConnell Family Stadium.
Women's Golf
Monday, Sept. 28 – Gannon at Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite – All Day
The Gannon women's golf team concludes play Monday at the Gilda's Club Laker Fall Invite hosted by Grand Valley State in Allendale, Mich.
The Golden Knights opened the tournament Sunday with a team score of 331 (+43), putting them tied for 14th in the 16-team field. Cloe Mateo (Sabadell, Spain/Montcau la Mola) and Victoria Colmenares (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil/ICL Academy) each carded a 6-over-par 78 and finished the opening round tied for 19th individually.
Mateo leads Gannon's five-player lineup, while Colmenares is competing as an individual. Alexandria LeCureux (Clarkston, Mich./Clarkston) and Cristina Carrasco (Barcelona, Spain/CEEDCV) each opened with an 82 (+10). The Golden Knights are scheduled for a 9 a.m. shotgun start in Monday's final round.
Men's Golf
Monday-Tuesday, Sept. 28-29 – Gannon at Sunnehanna Collegiate – All Day
The Gannon men's golf team returns to action at the Sunnehanna Collegiate, hosted by Pitt-Johnstown at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown.
Gannon is coming off a tie for third at the WCU Battlefield Classic, where the Golden Knights finished at 17-over 305 after the tournament's final round was canceled. Rasmus Seppanen (Bastad, Sweden/Akademi Bastad Gymnasium) led Gannon with an even-par 72, while Mattia Parrini (Verolengo, Italy/Verolengo) followed with a 1-over 73.
The Sunnehanna Collegiate marks Gannon's third tournament of the fall season and runs Monday and Tuesday.
Women's Soccer
Wednesday, Sept. 30 – Gannon at Seton Hill – 3 p.m.

The Gannon women's soccer team enters the week unbeaten in its last six matches after earning a scoreless draw at Roberts Wesleyan and a 2-0 road victory over Pitt-Johnstown last week.
Grace Emanuel (Erie, Pa./McDowell) and Olivia Dixon (Erie, Pa./Cathedral Prep) supplied the offense Saturday against Pitt-Johnstown. Emanuel opened the scoring early in the second half before Dixon doubled the lead just over two minutes later. The Golden Knights controlled the match with a 24-6 advantage in shots, while Alwa Wennstroem (Öjebyn, Sweden) recorded another shutout.

The Golden Knights opened the week with a 3-1 win over Lock Haven before erupting for nine first-half goals in a 9-0 victory over Pitt-Johnstown on Saturday. The Gannon volleyball team takes a 12-match winning streak on the road this week after sweeping its Alumni Weekend matches at the Highmark Events Center.
Gannon opened the weekend with a 3-0 victory over California (Pa.) before defeating Seton Hill in four sets on Saturday. The Golden Knights improved to 13-2 overall and 3-0 in PSAC West play with the win over the Griffins.
Abbey Williams (Chicago, Ill./Mother Mcauley Liberal Arts) led Gannon with 18 kills against Seton Hill as the Golden Knights won 25-23, 21-25, 25-17, 25-20. Gannon now heads to Clarion on Friday before facing Slippery Rock Saturday afternoon.
Football

The Gannon football team returns to the road Saturday night for a PSAC West matchup at Slippery Rock.
The Golden Knights are coming off a 24-14 setback against Lock Haven on Homecoming Weekend. Gannon rushed for 217 yards and held possession for nearly 33 minutes, while Nasean Hill led the ground game with 96 yards and a touchdown. Andre Underwood (Cincinnati, Ohio/Aiken) added 81 rushing yards and threw a touchdown pass to Chazz Corley (Indianapolis, Ind./Warren Central).
