Jones Named Assistant Director of Sports Information & Media Relations

ERIE, Pa. – Gannon University Director of Athletics Meghan Morphy has announced the hiring of Collin Jones as Assistant Director of Sports Information & Media Relations.

Jones joins the Golden Knights with experience in digital communications, athletic communications, social media management and creative content development. In his role at Gannon, Jones will work alongside Associate Director of Sports Information & Media Relations Taylor Brown and assist in promoting Gannon's Athletic programs.

Jones' primary responsibilities will focus on creative content development, social and new media management, brand management and department promotion. He will also oversee advertising fulfillment and serve as a liaison between Gannon Athletics, the University's Marketing and Communications office and external media.

"I'm looking forward to bringing my creativity and experience to Gannon University, building relationships with our student-athletes and coaches, and showcasing everything that makes Gannon special. Jones comes to Gannon after most recently working with the Harrisburg Senators as a Social Content Team Member and Digital Content Creator. In that role, he captured photo and video content before, during and after games, created real-time gameday content, managed digital media assets and contributed to the organization's overall creative content production.

He previously gained collegiate athletic communications experience at Lock Haven University, serving as an Athletic Communications and Marketing Intern in 2024. In that role, Jones assisted in promoting Lock Haven's 21 varsity athletic programs, producing photo and video content, creating highlight videos and promotional materials and managing social media content.

Prior to beginning his career in athletic communications, Jones was a four-year member of the NCAA Division III men's basketball program at Lebanon Valley College from 2019-23. He was a three-time All-MAC Commonwealth First Team selection and was named the MAC Commonwealth Player of the Year following the 2020-21 season. Jones also earned NABC All-District and D3hoops.com All-Region honors during his career while surpassing 1,000 career points.

Jones concluded his playing career at Lock Haven during the 2023-24 season. He appeared in 21 games for the Bald Eagles, averaging 11.5 points and 3.4 rebounds per game while shooting 49.7 percent from the field. He totaled 241 points and 71 rebounds during the season.

Jones is no stranger to the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC). His father, Albert Jones, serves as the Director of Athletics at Lock Haven and is a 1999 graduate of the university, where he was a standout member of the Bald Eagles' football program. His younger sister, Kiahna Jones, is a senior on the Lock Haven women's basketball team.

Jones earned his Master of Science in Sport Science from Lock Haven University in 2024 after receiving his Bachelor of Science in Digital Communications from Lebanon Valley College in 2023.
