Gannon Women Close Strong To Pick Up Dual Victory Over Clarion

The Short Story: Needing a win in the final race of the day, the Gannon women's swimming and diving team won by more than 10 seconds in the 400 freestyle relay to edge Clarion for a dual victory Saturday.

EVENT NOTES

With Clarion holding a narrow edge heading into the meet-concluding 400 freestyle relay, the Golden Knights won big, taking first and second to jump into the lead and win the dual. The team of Snyder, Puthoff, Pannemann and Arzalluz touched the wall more than 10 seconds ahead of Gannon's second team, and more than 12 seconds ahead of Clarion.
S. Taraska was part of three total wins on the day, including two individual races. In both the 100 free and 100 breast, she finished more than two seconds ahead of the next swimmer.
Freshman Nemetz got her first two wins of her career, taking the 200 free by nearly three seconds and the 500 free by nearly 10.
Snyder was also a winner in three events, leading off both winning relays and taking the 50 free.

UP NEXT

Gannon continues its torrid pace through the 2020-21 regular season next Saturday, heading to Indiana (Pa.) for a dual.
The Crimson Hawks are 2-0 after defeating Clarion and Wheeling in duals over the past two weeks.
