EVENT NOTES
  • Originally set up as back-to-back dual meets for Lake Erie against Mercyhurst and then Gannon, the event shifted to a round robin event with no team score in order to accommodate more matchups and be flexible with opponents.
  • In the lone matchup of nationally ranked wrestlers on the day, Lenox — ranked No. 7 in the country at 125 pounds — topped ninth-ranked Corey Gamet of Lake Erie. A first-period takedown held up for the fifth-year senior, who added an escape and riding time in the third.
  • Thirteen different Gannon grapplers won for the Golden Knights Saturday, as the team went 13-5 on the day.
  • More than half those wins came by bonus points, including six pins, all in the first period.
  • Gannon went 7-2 against Lake Erie and 6-3 against Mercyhurst. Using dual scoring in those matchups, the Knights edged out Lake Erie 33-7 and Mercyhurst 27-10.

UP NEXT
  • Gannon returns to the Hammermill Center for a dual matchup against Mercyhurst on Wednesday evening.
  • No fans will be allowed in the Hammermill Center for that meeting, but live video and live results will be available.
  • Gannon's senior class will also be honored at the match, and that portion will be featured on the live video stream.
