Women's Basketball Announces Four Game Slate To Open 2020-21 Action

ERIE, Pa. – The Gannon women's basketball team announced their first four games of the 2020-21 season Friday afternoon. The four game slate tips-off next week with a pair for games vs. Miles College followed by two more vs. Salem. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, fans will not be allowed to attend, but they can watch live online here.

Both sets of games will be played at the Hammermill as the Golden Knights look to build off last season's 13-1 home record.

Gannon will welcome the visiting Golden Bears of Miles College on Jan. 12 and Jan. 13 for its first two games of the year. Both games are set to start at 1 p.m. and will be the first time the Knights and Bears meet in the history of the program.

Four days later, Gannon will host the Salem Tigers on Jan. 17 and Jan. 18. The games will both tip off at 1 p.m. in the Hammermill. The Knights last played the Tigers in the 2008-09 season and took a dominating 109-38 win on their home court improving 4-0 in the all-time series.

The Knights are looking to keep the 2019-20 momentum going into the new year. Gannon went 26-5 overall with an 18-4 PSAC finish in the regular season. In the conference tournament, the Knights defeated No.7 Indiana, 50-40, for their second PSAC Championship in the history of the program. Gannon earned the No. 2 seed in the NCAA Atlantic Regional prior to the cancellation of the tournament.

In late November, the PSAC announced the cancellation of winter schedules, both regular and championship. Despite the PSAC announcement, Gannon reinforced its intent to facilitate seasons for its fall and winter athletic teams if conditions and the availability of willing PSAC institutions and non-conference contests are conducive to play. The Knights will continue to add to their schedule. To stay up to date on schedule updates, please see the women's basketball schedule page. Again, fans are not currently allowed in attendance, but can stream the games live.
