Gannon Women Win Four Events, Post Six PSAC Times Against Canisius On Senior Day

The Short Story: Silvija Taraska (Wickliffe, Ohio/Lake Catholic) closed the regular season with two event wins as the Gannon women's swimming and diving team fell in a dual against Division I Canisius on Senior Day Saturday at the Carneval Athletic Pavilion.

EVENT NOTES

Saturday was the fourth time this season S. Taraska won multiple individual races in an event.
S. Taraska and Ahl went 1-2 in the 200 free.
In the 100 breaststroke, L. Taraska, Amanda Geci (Kersey, Pa./Elk County Catholic) and Scott finished first, third and fourth.
Seniors Jillian Pritchard (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin), Amanda Puthoff (Cincinnati, Ohio/Mount Notre Dame), Schmitz and Scott were honored before the meet. Schmitz was part of the winning 400 free relay, and Scott earned a PSAC time in the 200 breast.

Gannon begins its ramp-up to the postseason over the next few weeks, with the PSAC Swimming and Diving Championships taking place in York, Pennsylvania Feb. 19-22.
